Hizzy — Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
Account information: Your email address, used for passwordless sign-in via magic link, or the name and email address provided by Apple or Google if you sign in with one of them.
Profile information: Search preferences such as desired neighborhoods, budget range, number of bedrooms, and amenities.
Usage data: Listings you view, swipe actions, matches, favorites, and in-app messages.
Lister content: If you list a property, we collect listing details, photos, and contact information you provide.
Device information: Basic device and app diagnostics to improve performance and fix bugs, and, if you allow notifications, a push token so we can deliver message notifications to your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Hizzy app and provide the swipe-and-match experience
- To show you relevant listings based on your preferences
- To enable messaging between matched renters and listers
- To notify you of new messages by push notification and/or email — you can turn either off in Settings → New message notifications
- To process payments, if and when Hizzy introduces paid features for listers
- To improve the app and fix technical issues
- To communicate important updates about the service
3. Information Sharing
With matched parties: When you match with a listing, the lister can see your basic profile and exchange messages with you through in-app chat. Similarly, you can see the lister's name, company, and contact details.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share data with service providers who help operate Hizzy (such as cloud hosting and email delivery), bound by confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your Rights
You may:
- Access and update your profile information in the app
- Delete your matches, favorites, and swipe history
- Request deletion of your account at any time, directly in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting contact@hizzy.app
- Opt out of marketing communications (we send very few)
6. Children's Privacy
Hizzy is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
